Modeling for Consistent Flow

Our staff designed this ground storage tank to integrate with two existing water storage tanks at Springdale’s Fitzgerald Mountain "tank farm.” A major challenge was to ensure equal flow throughout the expanded facilities and avoid water stagnation, which can occur if water remains too long in one tank. Our design was based on a hydraulic modeling analysis, which helped to determine piping diameters and configurations to induce the required equal flow throughout the expanded system, Our design also will accommodate two additional tanks planned for the future.

MWY was able to provide needed stormwater detention at the site by converting an old, 5 MG water tank (which was abandoned due to its elevation) to a stormwater detention facility under a separate contract.

A Long-Term Relationship

MWY has worked with the City of Rogers for more than 40 years, and this two-million-gallon Water Storage Tower is one of many projects completed for the city over than period.

Our staff provided planning, design and construction management services for construction of this fluted column tank, an well-known local landmark, emblazoned with the city’s distinctive logo.
