Team Approach Helps Model for the Future

Partnering with two other firms, MWY undertook this study of the portion of Fayettteville's sewer system that lies within the environmentally sensitive White River drainage basin. This detailed evaluation of infiltration and inflow problems also included recommendations for extensive wastewater collecton system rehabilitation.

ADS Services of Huntsville, Ala., provided equipment for 20 flow-monitoring stations, and Southeast Environmental Services, Murfeesboro, Tenn., provided field services such as manhole inspection, smoke testing, cleaning and television inspection of the system. In all, 500,000 feet of collection system lines were inspected and evaluated.

In addition to project coordination, data analysis and evaluation, our staff developed a hydraulic model of the system within the watershed. The model is being used to evaluate which engineering solutions will effectively and economically improve efficiency and capacity.
