MWY provides engineering design and construction services for roads, bridges and parking lots as well as drainage/stormsewer projects associated with roadways and other paving improvements.

Our staff has designed multiple-span bridges for federal and state highways as well as large residential developments. Several of these projects also have required extensive drainage studies as precursors to design and construction.

In addtion to multi-million dollar bridge and highway projects, we also have provided design and construction services for dozens of smaller street and drainage efforts throughout northwest Arkansas.

Wider Streets and a New Bridge

These projects include the reconstruction and widening to three lanes of 2.25 miles of major and minor arterial streets. Our staff carried out complete drainage studies to determine the size and design of a 62-foot, two-span bridge and a storm water drainage system. Utility relocations also were required.

Improvements to 40th Street were completed in 1998, and the Gutensohn Road improvements were completed in 2002.

Improvements Run Through It

This 6.5-mile paving project includes repaving, the replacement of two single-span brides and the creation of a new street between Highland Drive and Race Street. The project runs from the rural western outskirts of Jonesboro, through the intensely developed downtown district, and on to the city's southwestern district.

Let in four separate contracts, the project improvements range from simple overlay of existing pavement to the construction of new two-lane, four-lane and five-lane streets. The project is currently under construction.
