Fast-Track, Aesthetic Design

This 450-acre housing development, one of the largest planned unit communities in the area, went from concept to completion in just four years. MWY designed 10 miles of streets and alleys, storm sewers, sanitary sewers and a water-distribution system.

Due to the project terrain and the nature of the development, our staff performed extensive drainage studies before completing the storm sewer design. Water retention ponds were designed as lakes with flood control measures hidden by faux rocks and converted into waterfalls. Two multiple-span bridges, which cross the lakes, were architecturally designed for aesthetic appeal as well as function.

Schools for a New Generation

In 2003, MWY teamed with Wittenberg, Delony & Davidson, Inc., a Little Rock-based architecture firm, to design six new schools in Springdale, Arkansas: a high school, a junior high school, a middle school and three elementary schools. MWY is providing design services for site development ‚ including water, sewer, storm drainage and grading.

We also are maintaining frequent contact with Springdaleís Division of Planning and Community Development as part of the team creating Large Scale Development Plans for the new schools. The Springdale School Systems plans to build about 10 schools over the next decade.
